Samoa Adds Secured Transactions To Business Registry

The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (MCIL) have relaunched their Business Registry and have added a new online Personal Property Securities Register.

Samoa launched with their first Catalyst™ register for Companies in 2012. This refresh of the site, in February 2017, sees Samoa move to the latest version of our product along with the integration of a Personal Property Security Register (PPSR).

The integration of a PPSR into the business register enhances the accuracy and ease of use of both the companies and the secured transactions registers.

Activation of the Personal Property Securities Registry  was the culmination of an extensive reform to establish a personal property securities framework in Samoa, through which security interests in movable property can be safely and easily recorded. The reforms were supported by the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI).
