In 2004 the New Zealand Companies Office and Foster Moore launched the world’s first fully electronic Companies Register. For six years this system contributed significantly to New Zealand’s continued presence at the top of The World Bank’s “Ease of Doing Business” rankings; New Zealand is currently rated top in the world for Ease of Starting a Business and third for Ease of Doing Business.

In 2006 the Kingdom of Tonga’s company and business license registries, along with all historic paper records, were destroyed by fire. While this presented Tonga with the opportunity to build new state-of-the-art registries from scratch, the task was made difficult because there were no back-ups in existence.
The Solomon Island’s companies register is operated by the Company Haus. Historically registrations within the Solomon Islands were performed manually using paper records, with the register itself being managed by register staff using spreadsheets. Some time ago Foster Moore provided these spreadsheets as an intermediary step as an initial set of electronic records that could be migrated to the Catalyst-based system. In 2010 the Asian Development Bank (ADB) commenced a project to improve the business environment in the Solomon Islands, including an initiative to provide legislative reforms, combined with the implementation of an electronic online companies register.
The Ministry of Economic Development (NZMED) maintains the New Zealand Personal Property Securities Register (NZ PPSR) to enable the registration and administration of secured transactions within New Zealand. In 2000 the NZMED approached Foster Moore to assist with the delivery of a fully online secured transaction register. Foster Moore was engaged to deliver not only the technology, but to assist with the change management, communication and training with the wider business community.
